Background
Geeska Afrika Social Development Organization (GASDO) is a non-profit, non-governmental, and non-discriminatory social development and relief organization with the mission of assisting in the practical implementation of sustainable social development initiatives by protecting vulnerable and at-risk populations and their communities.
GASDO was established on 22 January 2015 to foster social and economic development for the underprivileged and underserved. Through personal transformation practices, social change training, education, advocacy, health, and charity, anyone of any nationality, class, color, race, or social rank can become agents of positive change. GASDO is operated entirely by volunteers and supported by individuals, companies, and foundations who believe in its goal.
GASDO focuses on improving the lives of children, adolescents, women and teenagers who are most vulnerable to inequality, discrimination, poverty, and human rights violations. GASDO conducts and facilitates research, training, and advocacy to advance social and economic justice, peace, and security.
Executive Summary
GASDO works for holistic development in livelihood, skills, health, education, WASH, nutrition, mother and child health, kitchen gardening, growth monitoring, immunization, arsenic mitigation, food security, disaster management, human rights, and adult and child education across its working region in Somalia to help realize an equal, poverty-free society.
GASDO adopts a community-focused, people-centered strategy aligned with national policy and the SDGs, ensuring community participation from planning to implementation, monitoring, and follow-up, promoting ownership and sustainability.

Mission
The organization provides humanitarian relief and development programs aimed at empowering the nation and reducing or eradicating poverty, illiteracy, and disease in Somalia.
Objectives
- Promote social stability and awareness on reproductive health, HIV/AIDS, and adolescent issues.
- Advocate for human rights, peaceful conflict resolution, and socio-economic development among marginalized communities.
- Promote equal rights and opportunities for children and youth with disabilities.
- Improve access to education and psychosocial well-being of marginalized children and youth.
- Increase household income through self-help projects to reduce poverty among victims of conflict and marginalized communities.
- Advocate for unconditional release of children and youth by armed groups.

Child protection committees, community dialogues, legal awareness, and support for OVCs' formal education.
Livelihoods Support
Income generation training, financial management, vocational skills for OVCs, and start-up toolkits.
Peace Building & Reconciliation
Parent and youth groups, reconciliation meetings, dialogues, sports, peace action plans, and IEC materials.
HIV/AIDS Mainstreaming
Integrated across all core programs through awareness, services, and support.
Advocacy
Addresses cross-cutting issues via parent and youth group platforms and messaging.
Environment & Conservation
Youth training, school clubs, tree nursery, and a planned tree demonstration garden.
Emergency & Relief
Food aid, food security training, and agricultural rehabilitation for drought and flood-affected people.
Reproductive Health
BCC, awareness, counseling, IEC materials, HIV testing, and community outreaches.
Mental Health
Addressing post-war effects through counseling, radio shows, rehabilitation, skills centers, and outreach.

Integrated across programs; support to 20 OVCs through scholastic materials and fees.

Strategic Planning

Target Population
We work with impoverished, marginalized, and disadvantaged groups and communities—particularly women, children, ethnic minorities, and char & slum residents—supporting organized communities seeking long-term solutions and building capacity to access information, technologies, and resources.
