Background

Geeska Afrika Social Development Organization (GASDO) is a non-profit, non-governmental, and non-discriminatory social development and relief organization with the mission of assisting in the practical implementation of sustainable social development initiatives by protecting vulnerable and at-risk populations and their communities.

GASDO was established on 22 January 2015 to foster social and economic development for the underprivileged and underserved. Through personal transformation practices, social change training, education, advocacy, health, and charity, anyone of any nationality, class, color, race, or social rank can become agents of positive change. GASDO is operated entirely by volunteers and supported by individuals, companies, and foundations who believe in its goal.

GASDO focuses on improving the lives of children, adolescents, women and teenagers who are most vulnerable to inequality, discrimination, poverty, and human rights violations. GASDO conducts and facilitates research, training, and advocacy to advance social and economic justice, peace, and security.

Executive Summary

GASDO works for holistic development in livelihood, skills, health, education, WASH, nutrition, mother and child health, kitchen gardening, growth monitoring, immunization, arsenic mitigation, food security, disaster management, human rights, and adult and child education across its working region in Somalia to help realize an equal, poverty-free society.

GASDO adopts a community-focused, people-centered strategy aligned with national policy and the SDGs, ensuring community participation from planning to implementation, monitoring, and follow-up, promoting ownership and sustainability.
